One to one collaborative performance.

 

Material: glass-door cabinet, private diaries written between 1987-2018, padlock, clock, post-its, pen.

The participant asks me for a secret, chose a diary and select a specific page. I read it during one minute. 

 

My thoughts revolve around power position and vulnerability, understanding of language, oral storytelling, acceptance of rules, ethical and privat issues. Is that ok to ask for a secret? Is that possible ‘to order’ an intimate moment? Can it be a service? Emotional service? Emotional labor? For me? For the participant?
